Slowly I began collecting reusable bags. Below is my collection. I am proud to say I have yet to pay for a single reusable bag.
At first when I busted these out for the Wal*Mart cashier to use, we got nasty looks, not only from the cashier but also anybody behind us. It typically takes them twice as long because they aren't uniform or opened and ready. I began bagging everything myself, which was a little nerve wracking as they just kept throwing stuff at me at a rapid pace. Now, I think the cashiers are getting more used to the idea. That or I am more confident when I say, "I have my own bags for you" (with a smile on my face). Regardless, I am proud to say we have not brought home a single plastic grocery bag in about a month. Now I am trying to remember the bags for the smaller shopping trips throughout the week.

Our area is talking about imposing a tax of 5 cents per bag if it's not reusable. So I'll be joining you.
