We Are Bad People

We did something awful this Saturday. We RSVP'ed for a wedding...and didn't go! Oh my, how terrible I feel. It was just that Jake's parent's cabin in Tahoe was so much more appealing than driving 2 hours in the midst of our weekend to go to a wedding of a college friend I haven't seen or talked to in a year.
So, instead of going to the wedding we celebrated Sir Sunderland's Grandmother's 70th birthday.
The drink of the night was mojitos, which Sir Sunderland mixed up with flair.
This is not an excuse for not going to the wedding, but it was the main deciding factor. Sure we feel like crap doing that to the bride and groom, but when it boiled down to it, spending time with family seemed like the best decision. We had a great time catching up on everyone's summer, talking about our new home and eating fabulous food. While we may have felt like bad people for ditching out on the wedding, it was for what seems to be a good reason in our eyes.

i'd skip the wedding to spend time with family. besides, they probably only invited you for the gift. i wouldn't feel bad.
