A Lesson in Parenting

& we don't even look sleep deprived, do we? DO WE?
When my mom was in town Sir Sunderland and I were sprung from baby duty for the evening to go and enjoy a night out by ourselves. We went out for sushi where we had the world's spaciest sushi chef. Every time he asked us if we wanted anything else, we would have to kindly remind him about the last three rolls he forgot to make us. Regardless, it was nice to get out and reconnect. Sure most of our conversation revolved around Gwyneth, seeing as she's the center of our world, but we still had other things to talk about, which is nice to know. We also had the pleasure of enjoying eachother's company without worrying about feedings, diapers and an adorable baby needing attention.

There's this huge change in our lives and we have new roles as not only husband and wife, but now a mom and dad. It was eye opening to see how easy it is to become enveloped in the mom and dad roles and forget about the husband and wife ones. It was a nice lesson in parenting that we were lucky enough to learn early on (thanks Mom!).
