Too Much Information In the Daycare World

Sweet little Gwen is going to have to start going to daycare here shortly. So we've been meeting with various women who run daycares from their homes (we'd prefer at-home daycare). First off, let me say that there is something "off" about most older women who run daycares from their home. Why woudl I say that?
When Sir Sunderland was on the phone with one woman, she was explaining in great detail the children she used to have and their parents. She of course felt the need to tell him that one of the kid's moms was pregnant and started spotting, so then she was on bedrest and took the kid out of daycare. Why wouldn't she just say the woman had pregnancy difficulties, especially when on the phone with a man?

Sir Sunderland found it odd, but our choices are slim, so we opted to meet with the woman. We shouldnt have even bothered. Our reservations from the phone converstation were confirmed upon meeting her.

Enter another woman, a completely separate incident. While I was on the phone with her, scheduling a time to come by and see her house, she so kindly told me that she couldn't do Thursday because she was going to get her Pap that day. Ewww! Why in the hell would she not say she had a doctor's appointment?!?!

We opted not to met her and don't feel bad at all about that decision.

What is it with this breed of women? Does running a daycare mean they don't have the commonsense to filter certain things out? You're running a business for pete's sake. I'd love to tell someone at work that I can't attend a meeting that day because I'm going to have my pap. I wouldn't even tell my girlfriends that!  I'm just saying....
