Happy Fall to One & All

Fall

Every year I get a little too excited about Fall. Simply put, it’s the best time of year. I’m not going to bore you with poetic prose about pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin candles and fall colors because there is so much more bundled into this wonderful season we all love.

The transition into Fall is the most abrupt (much like this transition itself). Winter creeps on and on until finally it warms up a smidge, just enough to heat up the earth so the wonderful plants can bloom. Spring slowly merges into Summer with days getting longer and warmer and before you know it you’re in your swimsuit eating a hot dog.

But Fall? Fall is just one day when you feel that chill in the air. The next thing you know leaves on trees have changed into vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow.  Out of nowhere, as if a switch has been flipped, it’s dark at 5 p.m..

There’s no easing into Fall. It just smacks you in the face one beautiful October morning. It’s an abrupt change that everyone is eagerly anticipating. It represents a time to celebrate the year’s harvest and to look forward to the next three holiday-filled months.

This year I wasn’t anticipating the season as much as I have in previous years, which I think has something to do with this adorable face.

Usually I am burning pumpkin candles in August, sipping on Pumpkin Spice Lattes in September just willing the season to change. But not this year. This year I woke up on that magical October morning to proclaim, “it’s cold.”

Our calendar is filled with pumpkin patch play dates and Halloween parties.  It's official, Fall is here and I couldn't be more thrilled.
