Wreaths & Friends
On Friday I was sent a text message from one of my best friend's asking if I was free on Sunday. Upon further discussion, I was invited to come over and decorate wreaths. Decorate wreaths? Interesting. Jumping at any chance for an excuse to hang out with the girlfriends, I arrived right on time come Sunday.
My girlfriends planned a fantastic wreath making party. A church in town does a fundraiser, selling live wreaths. Each wreath comes with pine cones and a nice red ribbon. They got one for each of us, and all the fixins to decorate them. Every type of Christmas ribbon, ornament, accent decoration and glittery thing you could find. Armed with a hot glue gun and an entire table covered in glittery goods, we got to work.
I can't even begin to tell you what a great, stress-free craft project this is. Sitting, enjoying each other's company, we made some of the most beautiful wreaths I've ever seen. And literally, it was as easy as hot gluing an ornament to a wreath. What a great way to kickoff the holiday season.
This was my Christmas present from both of my girlfriends. Little do they know they gave me so much more than a gorgeous wreath, but a creative and fun night with my favorite people. I am so astonished with what a great idea this was and hope we'll continue doing it as the year's go on.
