The photo doesn't do the actual view itself justice, but if you look beyond the piles of dirt, it's actually quite nice.We've been traipsing through this desert for 2 years now and there is surprisingly some natural plant life in its seemingly barren landscape.
In the absence of a yard of our own, the desert has played its role. Sophie gets to run around freely and do her business while I get to enjoy the beautiful views of dirt and the city (and I suppose some mountains behind it).While tending to Sir Sunderland's grandmother's neglected front yard last weekend, I had a pang for a yard of my own. With things to water, mow, tend to and even weed. Our plan is to move out of this apartment come December, which couldn't come fast enough. As for now and the next 7 months, I will seek out the beauty of our current "backyard" as best as I can.

Not too bad... desert landscape can be beautiful even when it's a big mass of dirt!! Hope you get your yard soon!

I would love to have a big backyard like that of my own! :) I have a friend who lives in Sparks NV. She says she's high up in the mountains and she loves the view! I love all the pictures you took - breathtaking!
