Lettuce & Heat

The lettuce is biting the dust. I have tried to protect it from the direct sun but am lead to believe it is just not meant for the 85 degree heat. Before it all wilts we will harvest what we have and let the bunnies enjoy it (there's not enough for either one of us to enjoy). I will be sure to keep in mind to plant lettuce much earlier in the season, another lesson learned in the wonderful world of gardening!

Oh dear! Try plastic pots. The tin lets in too much heat to the soil. Don't use clay either - same problem. Don't give up! Also - morning shade and afternoon sun is the best formula.
