Craigslist is for Mean Idiots

With the addition of our new oh-so-comfortable giant couch we had to get rid of the old hand me downs. Cue Craigslist. Wishing we could make a bit of money, Sir Sunderland doctored up a post for the old brown couch with a hide-a-bed. Unfortunately, he thought it was a futon and posted it as so. While checking his email I heard a disgruntled shout from him. Someone so kindly responded to his post as "That is not a futon you shit for brains, it's a couch!" How kind is that? Someone felt the need to take the time to not only read the ad but respond to it.

I lovingly let Sir Sunderland know what classifies as a futon and he then re-posted the couch for free.

~Free Brown Couch with hide a bed. Shoot me an email and I will give you directions. You haul, seriously be prepared to carry it yourself.~

The important part of this story is for you to know that we were trying to avoid having to move it ourselves, hence the 'You Haul' it part. A guy was interested and came by with 2 women, dressed in skirts and high heels! We heard them drop the couch on the stairs outside. Sir Sunderland went to offer his assistance only to have the man drag the couch and him down the stairs leaving him in excruciating back pain all night.
Wouldn't you expect a thank you for the free couch or help? Not a word. You're welcome Cragislist users!

We avoided Craig's List by having a yard sale. Although we received only $150. for a $2000. T.V. and we threw in the entertainment center, we didn't have to move it.
By the way, our buyers stopped by the next week to thank us. How cool!

That's crazy! Craigslist has been a huge hit or miss thing for me, but I've successfully sold a car, bought a car, got a roommate and many babysitting jobs through Craigslist. You just never know!
