Well, I am proud to announce that through combined efforts, Sir Sunderland and I managed to screw up....chocolate chip cookies. You heard me right, chocolate chip cookies.
As he was reading the recipe off the computer to me, I just added everything in one big bowl. It wasn't until I plopped the chocolate chips in there when it dawned on me that we did something terribly wrong, like not follow the directions! The butter wasn't soft enough which made things worse and led to me picking it out and putting it in the microwave. This melted some chocolate chips and it all went downhill from there.
They were gross and definitely had a salty after taste, which is not what we were looking for.
On another note, I did make some fabulous pancakes on Sunday. They are my favorite breakfast in the whole world and we haven't had any pancake mix in the pantry. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos, but I do have a recipe. It's from my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook (thanks Mom!).
Delicious Perfectly Fluffy Pancakes
1 cup flour
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 beaten egg
1 cup milk
2 tbsp. oil
Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and set aside.
Combine egg, milk and oil and pour into flour stuff.
Mix it up and you've got yourself some pancake mix!
