Underemployed and Loving Every Second of It

This week has been one of those weeks that has made me turn to Sir Sunderland and announce that I am sooo glad to be working part time. It gives me enough time to spend with baby G while maintaining a balance of not only baby, if you know what I mean.

When Sir Sunderland comes home from work on the days it's just me and baby G (Mondays and Tuesdays), he gets an evening full of all the exciting and not-so exciting antics of baby G.
"And then, she rolled over and farted!" to "She cried and I changed her diaper."

It's nice to get out of the house and get the chance to broaden my conversation topics. Don't get me wrong, I cherish the time I get to spend with baby G. Like today.

We ventured out to Babies R Us to pick up some much needed items, inclduing this little crinkly dog that she wouldn't give back.
Note to self- if in store don't ever give actual toy to infant who will attack and put in mouth. I figured I'd give them to her and see how she liked them. While this did work out to our benefit (she went bananas over the puppy) this does mean that she may have drooled all over a few other toys that she wasn't nearly as passionate about, which I may have put back on the shelf  gladly purchased. Consequently, wash all toys that will go into her mouth before you give them to her. Who knows what other baby has been drooling on those things.

The weather was so nice that we took the bunnies out front and had a nice little soiree on our front half dead/half jungle lawn.

When Sir Sunderland came home we rushed out the door to walk down to the new yogurt store. We then decided we were starving and might as well spend the money on dinner instead of dessert and settled for Sonic. Gross. There's a Sonic down the street that somehow we always gravitate to and it's awful. Neither of us like their food and you have to sit outside, and I could go on and on. The Hawaiian bbq place we were excited to go to wound up having closed five days ago which is why we ended up at stupid Sonic. You just can't win.

The sun then set at a rapid pace and we were all freezing. We had to run back home before the baby turned into a popsicle because this Mommy Daddy team is still learning and didn't bring a warm blanket since it was warm when they left the house.

I wouldn't trade having the opportunity to share a few extra quality days a week with my little girl. It was almost as if the constant struggle caused by my under-employment since the day I left college had an ultimate purpose after all or so I like to tell myself that.

Now off to a 10 hour work day in my new sleek pencil skirt that makes me look uber-professional.
