A Year in Review

This past year has been a doozy, that's for sure. It was a lot of fun going through and seeing what the top posts of 2011 were. Join me as we look back at what 2011 looked around here as we transitioned into a family,  transformed Lauren Inspired to The Reno-Sparks Mom and busted out a few crafts and recipes here and there.

10. Baby Makes Three

We welcomed our first beautiful baby girl into our lives in January with a surprisingly relaxed c-section delivery.

9. Breastfeeding Ain't so Natural

I slowly lost my mind as my daughter refused to breastfeed. Can you believe that nonsense? I couldn't, but here we are, 2 weeks from our year goal, exclusively pumping so she can get the breastmilk she refuses to get straight from the source. Silly girl.

8. Pink Champagne Cupcakes

Ok, this one cracks me up at the sheer power of Pinterest. These cupcakes photographed beautifully, which is why I assume they are so popular. They happened on complete accident and the light was shining through the kitchen window perfectly. The funny part? The recipe itself, is not that great. The cupcakes spoiled within 8 hours of being made. But here they are, as popular as ever a year and a half later. Has anyone made them?

7. Dr. Seuss nursery Pt. 1

We decided on a gender neutral Dr. Seuss themes for Gwyneth's nursery and had our work cut out for us. It began with ridding ourselves of the previous owner's purple paint and wallpaper and turning it into a colorful landscape.

6. Dr. Seuss nursery Pt. 2

We successfully transformed her room to the whimsical Lorax themed room it is now weeks before Gwen's arrival. If it weren't for family and friends it would've stayed the purple it was before. Every time I sit in her rocking chair and look at the details and how perfect the room is and how our ideas came to life I can't help but be so grateful for the people in our lives who love our little girl so much.

5. BLT Pasta Recipe

Bacon, cream cheese and pasta. Enough said.

4. Baby Princess Leia Costume

Our baby's first Halloween in her homemade Princess Leia costume.

3. Easy Candy Corn Popcorn

Sugar sugar and more sugar. My Halloween twist on the popular peppermint popcorn. Mmm, I could kind of eat some right now. Something to look forward to next Halloween.

2. How to Clean Hardwood Floors Naturally

1 cup vinegar + 1 gallon boiling hot water = the best way to clean your hardwood floors. It even gets the dried on baby food off the floor (that stuff is like glue I tell you).

1. Owl Fall Wreath

Who can forget this charming guy? A happy accident that happened in September and made its rounds throughout the internet and is even being featured in an ebook.

Thank you for being a part of this wonderful journey. Here's to 2012 and all the adventures it brings!
