Lucky for us Mrs. Priss had easy to follow tutorials every step of the way.
We bought our supplies and headed over to another friend's house to get the party started.
We began with the wrapping of the wreaths, which took forever. I have the attention span of a gnat, so I was of course the last one to get done and my girlfriend wound up finishing it for me. So I could move on to the felt flower portion, of course. Not because I was whining the entire time or anything like that.
We hovered over our iphones following the tutorials on how to make the different variations of felt flowers. It's amazing how simple they are, once you figure it out. Not to mention how many different things you can create out of a .29 piece of felt.
We made the pom poms, flowers and rosettes.
And here's what we all came up with:

I especially love mine because my wreaths get lost behind my screen door. Aside from putting them on the outside of my screen, I was kind of at a loss of what to do. But this baby brings hope. See?
You can't miss it with all the bright colors. So summery, even if everyone has already moved onto Fall.
I am in love with it and can't wait to make different versions for other holidays and seasons (I already found an amazing Fall wreath that I can't wait to show you once I get the cute little owl I want to put on it).
My goal is to always have a wreath on my door and after learning how easy it is to make I don't think I'll have any problem.
I do have some advice, however.
- The wrapping of the yarn is a great project for sitting in front of the tv. It's mindless and takes quite awhile, like crocheting (or any project involving yarn for that matter).
- You'll want to use pins when attaching your flowers to the wreath. For whatever reason hot glue just seeps right through the yarn and doesn't attach very well.
- Crafting with friends is always so much fun and leads to so much inspiration. It was fun how we all kind of became specialists in our own type of technique and taught each other tips and tricks.
- Not to mention drinking while crafting always makes for a swell time.
My new favorite thing to do (now that I understand the true beauty of Pinterest) is to check out the linky parties and pin all the great ideas I find. It's been a great resource of ideas, moves me to comment and give feedback and has made blogging fun again. For that reason, I've linked up to Tip Junkie's Tip Me Tuesday party. Check it out, there's some great ideas you would never know existed.

These are some pretty cool wreaths! I love that you did them as a crafty party! I have been wanting to do something like this with some of my friends. How long does it take to wrap the yarn. Hours? Days? Just curious how ling of a project this is. Thanks for sharing!
