Take Your Places
My plan for the family's Thanksgiving place cards: small white pumpkins with a patch of chalkboard paint that will hold each person's handwritten name in chalk.
Now, one might wonder 1.) Does chalkboard paint work on pumpkins? and 2.) How will writing on a bumpy pumpkin turn out? My answers: there's only one way to find out.
I've wanted to do something with chalkboard paint for the past 6 months, and this turned out to be my outlet. If it doesn't work on the pumpkins, I have plenty of other ideas, which I can't wait to use the rest of the paint on. And as for the bumpiness of the pumpkin; it'll only add to the charm of the "chalk" effect. The first layer of paint is drying as we speak. So far, a success!
