Strap on the Feed Bag*
*When I asked Sir Sunderland for his input for a title for our weekly menu, this is what he had to offer.

Weekly Dinner Menu
You might notice that we have a couple of repeats on our menu this week. This is because last week zoomed right by. I can't even tell you when, where or what happened, but I can tell you that we were super busy every night of the week. You will be pleased to know that Taco Bell was NOT on our menu this last week, no matter how busy we were. Alas, this week we are trying to keep things low key and, hopefully, a little less stressful.

Quiche Lorraine
Last week's New Menu Item
Quiche Lorraine
| Source |
While a tasty item, we have run into a dilemma. Sir Sunderland was raised eating quiche as a breakfast dish and I was raised eating it as a dinner dish. We both agree it's not great enough to become a staple item, but nice to have once and awhile, just for breakfast or dinner? Quite the predicament!
Enough of our issues now, for the recipe!
Quiche Lorraine a la Cleaning out the Fridge
Pre-bought frozen pie crust
Half and Half (or whatever milk you have in fridge)
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
Ham, Bacon, turkey, the possibilities are endless
3 eggs
Nutmeg to taste
Salt & pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 450. Take pie crust out of freezer, set aside. Mix together eggs, half and half and spices. Add cheese and mix. Line bottom of pastry crust with meat and pour mixture on top. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Weekly Dinner Menu
I'm sure you've noticed we have a bit of repeats from last week. We naturally strayed from our menu by going out a few nights, or simply not making dinner and will put them to use this week.
As far as our new recipe of the week last week, chicken cordon bleu, we were not fans and it will not be making the staples menu. It was dry, bland and not worth the hour it took Sir Sunderland to make. My mashed potatoes came out tasting like, well, mashed potatoes. I used milk, half and half, tons of butter, salt and pepper but they are still lacking the flavor I'm looking for. Any ideas?
