Gwyneth {11 Months}

Gwyneth you are 11 Months Old Today!

You’re an almost-walking, screeching, adorable little baby these days. Everyday you astonish us with something new you’ve learned.

While taking a bath you like to eat the bubbles in the bathtub and on occasion smash your face in the water. You'll cough and sputter a little but keep right on going along with bath time.

When Daddy comes home from work you grin from ear to ear. You go with him upstairs and spend some time together while he changes out of his work clothes. You like to crawl around on the bed while he does this and only one time did you fall and bonk your head on the bedside table.

You absolutely love Homer. You crawl over to wherever he is laying and smack him in the face, play with his tail, body slam him, you name it. Lucky for you he’s a kind and patient dog who only once in awhile gets annoyed with this torture. You try to do the same to Sophie but she steers clear of you.

You’ve rediscovered your voice and love to yell at the top of your lungs. You scream and yell ‘”da da da da” all day long.

You have become quite adventurous and are constantly hurting yourself. In one week you flipped over a toy and your father's legs head first, poured a cup of tea on your arms and dunked yourself in the bathtub. Now that you've figured out how to get up the stairs we've got our eye on you at all times.

You are picking up on things with a rapid pace. You now know how to draw with a crayon and also how to use our iphones, to name a few.

You decided to start eating baby food again! What a joyous day for all of us. We knew you couldn’t sustain yourself for long solely off of graham crackers and milk.

Every night when we go to bed I miss your lovely face and can’t wait for the fun we’re bound to have the next day. Your Daddy and I love you more than words can ever describe and we’re so lucky to have you in our lives. Happy eleven month birthday baby girl!

10 Months {Gwyneth}

Gwyneth you are 10 months old today.
You weight 16.5 lbs and wear 9 month size clothes.

You’ve decided you want to be independent this month. Youenjoy being alone and can entertain yourself amongst your toys for apretty long time. Daddy and I get pretty bored sometimes when we try and playwith you and you’d prefer to go off and play alone.
And then there was the day you ate a graham cracker anddecided you were all grown up and would be feeding yourself from that momentforward. Somewhere in that head of yours you decided that  not only would we not spoon feed you, but you would not be eating anymore baby food either. Youdidn’t eat anything but milk for a week after that.

All you wanted were grahamcrackers and cheerios, two things you weren’t ready to eat seeing as you chokedon them every time. Instead you ate dissolvable snacks and within weeksyou have become quite skilled at picking up food and getting it in your mouth.You’ve sped up significantly and can put away quite a few little snacks in onesitting.

We’ve tried to give you new foods to try, all of which youtouch with a look of complete disgust until you venture to put it up to yourmouth. You will pretend to try it and decide you don’t like it. So far the onlythings you like are the fruit flavored cheerio dissolvable snacks and thecheeto looking puffs. This really upsets your parents who were trying to feedyou homemade all-natural baby food!
At the beginning of the month you could standup by yourselfand slowly get around furniture. In the middle of the month you not only caughtspeed moving around furniture, but you began pushing things around on the floorwhile standing up (chairs, boxes, etc.) Mommy got you a toy that you push. Itgoes super fast on the hardwood floors but you jog along behind it as if it’snot a problem. Occasionally you will let go of something you were using tobrace yourself and not realize you’re standing by yourself. You stand fineuntil you realize what’s going on and immediately grab on to something or fallto the floor.
You like to giggle and laugh with Mommy or Daddy and youpicked up on an evil laugh (muhahaha). You like to do it whenever you can.Nothing is cuter than a 10-month-old baby maniacally laughing as she plays withher toys.
You’re moments away from walking, eating finger foods all byyourself and growing like a weed. It’s amazing to watch your mind expand anddevelop and see you absorb your surroundings. You’re such a joy and a constantsource of happiness in this house. We love you!

Gwyneth {9 Months}

Gwyneth Denise you are 9 Months Old Today!

{Photo disclaimer: the numbered onesies have gotten, well a little behind. Instead of taking a picture of her in a 9 month onesie on her 9 month birthday, I've been getting in a shot of her in the last month's onesie, days before she's not that month anymore. So, umm, sure this says 9 months and the pictures say 8, but it doesn't have to be precise, really. Humor me}

You are officially the cutest thing ever. You can alwayshear Daddy and I saying to each other “Can she be any cuter?”

You sleep like a champ, even though your teeth have beenbugging you lately. You’ll wake up quite upset and need to be distracted tocalm down. You and Mommy go downstairs and watch a little tv while we wait foryour medicine to make you comfortable enough to go back tosleep. Other than that, you go to bed at 8:15pm every night after a nice bath where you suck on your rubber ducky's beak.

Every night Daddy rocks you to sleep as you drink your bottle while Mommy reads a book. Mommy has to read to you because you get worked up when Daddy reads out loud. We have gotten into the Winnie-the-Pooh series that we love.
After weeks of giant painful looking teeth peeking throughyour top gums they finally broke through. They are very large and coming inquite nicely. You drool a lot and like to chew on anything you can get yourhands on. You’re not a fan of teething rings or anything “teething” related.Your two bottom teeth are as crooked as ever and are simply adorable.

You still practically only eat bananas and a cereal of somesort. You tried apples and pears and took to the pears. Daddy tried his hardest to get you to like sweet potatoes, butyou made it quite clear you don’t care for them.  We gave you cheerios a couple of nights and you choked onthem so we decided to give you a little more time.

You have been practicing with a sippy cup since Mommy issick of you shaking your bottle over your head and getting milk everywhere. Youlike to chew on it then watch me show you how to use it. You suck to get liquidout and cough when it does. You really like drinking out of a cup like a biggirl and to spill/spit whatever it is down your front. You try and drink out ofanything that is cup-like you can find and always yell into it (a trick Itaught you awhile ago).
You are constantly surprising us with new little tricks youhave up your sleeve. While grocery shopping you decided to start giving us highfives. You like to clap your hands together when the mood strikes and you’ve really mastered the head bob and like to nod “yes” a lot.

Daddy taught you how to give us kisses, which you do by opening your slobbery mouth super wide and smashing it onto our lips, teeth and all. Daddy also always says "awww" after you give him kisses and you like to mimic him when he does it. It has to be one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.

You’ve discovered your voice and like to yell a lotnowadays. Whenever there is something that is loud (the vacuum, the bathtubfilling up, etc) you like to yell at it. I love to hear you yelling at thebathtub from downstairs when you go upstairs with Daddy to take a bath.
You are a tough little girl and barely anything fazes you. You're constantly on the move, crawling  (well, a leg dragging type crawl that works for you) here and there with lightning speed and pulling yourself up on furniture and walls. You're fearless and fall and bonk your head quite a bit and act as if nothinghappened.
You’re becoming such a fun little whipper snapper who bringsso much happiness and love to our family. Happy 9 month birthday baby girl!

5 Months Old {Gwyneth}

Gwyneth you are {5} Months Old!
No doctor's appointment this month, but I would guesstimate you've sprouted 5 inches and packed on a pound or two.

You wear 6 months clothes, which you are already growing out of lengthwise. The weather finally warmed up so you are being subjected to multiple outfit changes throughout the day as I attempt to put you in all the cute dresses you're growing out of (see below).
This has been quite the month for you (I know, I say that every month). Overnight you went from a baby to this little person with a personality, quirks, a voice and a temper.

We moved you into your own room so Daddy and I could finally sleep in the same bed together. When we put you in your big girl crib you tend to get weenie wedged in between your mattress and the side so we keep putting you in your bassinet. You are getting a little too big for the bassinet, so we might just have to keep an eye on you in your big girl crib.

You slept through the night for most of the month as a teaser, but just recently you've decided to torment us by waking up regularly throughout the night. You typically don't need anything but a good snuggle to drift right back to sleep.
You like to take nice long naps at daycare, but when you're at home you like to take little short naps in our arms. We've instituted a lovely weekend ritual of family nap time, where we all take a morning nap together. Daddy can always get you to sleep with him in bed. One morning you were struggling to fall asleep with Mommy and the minute you rolled into Daddy's arms you immediately fell asleep. Daddy is the best at putting you to bed!

We decided you were ready for solids when we noticed you were paying close attention to our mouths as we ate and drank. You like to sit in our laps with wide eyes and watch the fork, cup or spoon go into our mouths.

We started out with rice cereal. What with your discerning 5 month old taste and all, you were not a fan (which I don't blame you, that stuff smells awful).  After a few days we decided to try out barley cereal we happened to have in the pantry.  You loved it! You kicked and squealed in between bites and couldn't get enough.

At first you were unsure of what to you were supposed to do with your tongue: putting it in front of the spoon, to the side, on top, etc. Within a week you had the hang of it after watching both your parents act like fools in an attempt to encourage you to eat and swallow.  Now you eat a bowl full of barley cereal every night before bed.

We tried out your swanky highchair, but you're still a little too small and tilt to the side which makes it a little difficult for you to focus and eat. We'll stick to your bouncy chair for now.

You can entertain yourself for awhile if we just put you on the floor on a blanket. You love rolling over.  You roll from  back to tummy and do a baby pushup to look around while playing with your toys. You still startle yourself a little when you make it from tummy to back and always bonk your little head on the floor, which doesn't phase you in the least bit. You like to put your little butt in the air while you're on your stomach, as if you're getting ready to crawl. Please, take your time, I don't think Mommy can handle you crawling for a few more months, so go ahead and stop that now.

You've discovered your feet and like to hold on to one whenever you get your diaper changed. This  can make things a bit difficult, but we are adapting.

You get upset and like to yell when you can't figure something out, which typically involves a toy getting into your mouth.

You've also discovered your voice. Before you used to let out a little cough, but now you like to screech like a pterodactyl.

When Mommy comes home from work and picks you up from daycare, we like to sit down and have a nice little chat where you like to giggle and talk. Oh that adorable  rare baby giggle that finally came this month!  It's too cute as you get worked up to laughing and how you reserve it only for particular things.

You've grown and changed so much this month, I can't wait to see what next month will bring. Love you little girl!

4 months {Gwyneth}

Gwyneth you are {4} months old
You weigh 12 lbs are 25 inches long and wear 6 month size clothes

What an exciting month for you! You are all smiles and drooling like a maniac.

 We thought you didn't like to be swaddled so had you in a warm sleep sack when you slept. I read somewhere that babies don't like the act of being swaddled, but like to be swaddled when sleeping. We gave it another shot and it fixed all of your sleeping problems. You now wake up once a night for a little late night snack and go right back to sleep.
After Easter you picked up a viral bug. When you were sick you started  chugging your bottle as if you had never seen food before and ever since you've never looked back.

While you were sick you had to be introduced to the disgustingly sweet drink of Pedialyte. I bought every flavor and let you taste each one. You made your "ick" face to all 3 of the flavors, but least of all the orange. You definitely didn't like the half milk/half unflavored pedialyte concoction your doctor suggested we try.

Your hands are a great new discovery for you. You like to chew on them and watching you learn how to use them is so much fun. You try and grab your bottle and toys and it's always a little struggle as you try to figure out how to get them into your mouth. Your favorite toy is a lizzard/insect thing that we call 'Froggerfly.' You love to sit and crinkle his wings and stuff him in your mouth. You yell at him when you get frustrated that you can't get him into your mouth.

You are a master at rolling over.  At first you rolled over from your stomach to back and then one day you folded your knees up and tried your hardest to roll over from your back to your stomach. Occassionally you're successful and we find you somehow on your tummy.

You're such a happy go-lucky baby and not only do we notice, everyone else does too. When I picked you up from daycare one day I got the report that you are the world's most perfect baby. I think we can all agree with that! When you were sick you had to get an xray of your stomach and the radiologist said you were the first baby she'd ever seen that didn't cry. You went as far as falling asleep on the cold x-ray table.

 We love you little girl!

2 Months {Gwyneth}

Gwyneth you are 2 months old today!

It seems like just yesterday we were nervous about your weight and now look at you!
You are 23.5 inches long
You weigh exactly 10 lbs
You are already wearing size 3 month clothes and are going to grow out of the feet any day now.
You got your first series of shots today, 3 in total and you were such a big girl about it. You only cried a little and made the saddest frowny face when you were eating your bottle right after. But 5 minutes later it was as if nothing had ever happened.

Your sleeping pattern is all over the place. Some nights you  surprise us and sleep for 2-3 hours, other nights you wake up every hour. Lately you've been sleeping a lot, which must be because you're a growing girl.

We gave up nursing and now you eat out of your bottles. You take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to eat your entire bottle and typically want a little bit more a half hour later. We watch a lot of tv during these marathons!

You're slowly discovering your voice. Sometimes you shout and surprise yourself. Other times you  seem like you want to say something then let out a little whisper.

You love sleeping with us, especially on our chests. Whenever you're restless you love to snuggle up and fall asleep. It's adorable when you are asleep on your Dad's chest and both of you are snoring. You snore almost as loud as he does!

You can see things pretty far away now and  like to look around at everything.  You don't like being cradled unless you're being fed or sleepy, otherwise you want to be facing out so you can see.

You can hold your head up by yourself sometimes and are constantly surprising us with how strong you are.

Happy 2 month birthday little girl!

3 Months {Gwyneth}

Gwyneth you are 3 months old!
You weight 11 lbs and wear 3 month size clothes.
This month has been so much fun. You are developing into such a smart, beautiful little girl.
You started daycare this month, and  charmed everyone with your long naps and mellow attitude. Everyday we have to document how you slept and what your mood is and every morning we write "happy" in the mood question because that's what you are, one happy baby.
You've started smiling more and more and you are tracking objects very well. You like to look at mommy or daddy from across the room and you always keep an eye on us wherever we go. You even rolled over quite a few times from your stomach to your back. You hate tummy time and get so frustrated.  One day while you were fussing about being on your tummy you rolled right on over to your back, startling yourself. Ever since then you have done it quite a few times. When you're on your back you like to do a half a roll over, by tucking your feet into your chest and rolling on your side. You've succeeded once and seem to want to practice any chance you can get.
You sleep very well during the night and have been eating from your bottle on a very consistent schedule.
We love seeing your toothless gummy smile grinning back at us. We can get you to smile every time by buzzing our lips together.
We love every precious minute we get to spend with you and watching you develop into your own little person.
Happy 3 Month Birthday Gwyneth!

1 Month

Happy One Month Birthday Gwyneth!

It's amazing how much she has changed in just one month. We are getting to know each other and learning what all her squeaks, cries and faces mean. For example, this one means
"I've got something brewing in my diaper"
And is typically followed with an explosive diaper situation.

Simply adorable.

We can't wait to see her grow and develop into her own little person, especially seeing how much she's already grown in just one month.
